Inspiring Forward: Helping a School Give an Unforgettable Experience for Its Students

We met with Monique Estrada (ME) who ensured the safety of children at Bexley Elementary while volunteering with the school district. Together with her daughter, they made cherished memories during her final year in elementary school.

AC: What organization or local cause did you volunteer for?

ME: I volunteered for my daughter’s end-of-year school field trip.

AC: Can you please provide an overview of their mission?

ME: I chaperoned children at the end of the school year celebration.

AC: Was this your first time volunteering for this organization or cause? Please elaborate.

ME: Yes, it was my first time volunteering for the Pasco County school district, Bexley Elementary.

AC: Where there any requirements for this type of volunteerism?

ME: I was required to ride the bus with the students. Also required to chaperone while they walked around the park. Make sure all kids arrived and left safely.

AC: Why did you choose to volunteer here for your Day of Giving?

ME: I decided to volunteer to be able to be part of my daughter’s last elementary event.

AC: Can you tell us about your volunteer experience? What did you do? Did your time volunteering meet your expectations?

ME: My volunteer time was amazing; I was able to help our local school and be part of my daughter’s last school elementary event.

AC: What would you like to share to encourage others to volunteer their time and energy locally?

ME: I encourage others to get involved, be part of their community, and help impact their children to make beautiful memories.

AC: Is there anything else that you would like to share about your experience?

ME: Yes, I learned to manage a large crowd of kids in the middle of a fast-paced environment. It was great to be able to be part of the last elementary year for my daughter.
