We met with Betsy Pasos (BP) who lent her time and energy to the vibrant Florida Strawberry Festival, assisting in the practical yet vital task of directing parking. This delightful event celebrates the rich agricultural heritage of the Florida strawberry, and Betsy’s contribution ensured a smooth experience for all attendees.
AC: What organization or local cause did you volunteer for?
BP: I volunteered at the parking section, directing cars to park for the Strawberry Festival
AC: Can you please provide an overview of their mission?
BP: Florida Strawberry Festival’s mission is to preserve and celebrate the history and agriculture of the Florida strawberry.
AC: Was this your first time volunteering for this organization or cause? Please elaborate.
BP: Yes, this was the first time I volunteered for this organization.
AC: Where there any requirements for this type of volunteerism?
BP: I’m not sure if there were any requirements. I volunteered because my church mentioned this opportunity.
AC: Why did you choose to volunteer here for your Day of Giving?
BP: I love the strawberry festival and I wanted to volunteer for something different.
AC: Can you tell us about your volunteer experience? What did you do? Did your time volunteering meet your expectations?
BP: My volunteer experience was great. Meeting new people and seeing new faces.
AC: What would you like to share to encourage others to volunteer their time and energy locally?
BP: I would like to say that it’s a reward to volunteer. Because not only you are giving to others, but to also see those faces of joy when you are helping.
